Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has written this letter at a time when the demand to make the voter lists public is getting stronger day by day and the debate on it has intensified in the party. Sources said that Tharoor, who is considering contesting the election for the post of President, has written to Mistry and demanded the publication of the voter list. The nomination process for the election involves 10 nominees who will be delegates of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC).

The senior Congress leader quoted sources as saying that it is important to know about these representatives as their nomination papers may be rejected if their names do not appear in the final list. When asked about the letters written by the leaders and the voices raised regarding the demand for release of the electoral list, the Congress did not pay attention to it. The party said that voices are being raised one after another that Rahul Gandhi should be made the next president of the party.

Apart from Tharoor, Karti and Manish Tiwari have also demanded

Along with Tiwari, who was part of the Congress’ G-23 group, Tharoor on Wednesday raised questions over the non-publication of the Electoral College list related to the election of the party president, saying that the entire process related to the election was fair and transparent. Tharoor, who expressed his intention to contest for the post of C Party president, agreed with Tiwari, saying that everyone has a right to know who they can nominate and who they can vote for.

When is the election and when will the results come?
Congress MP Manikam Tagore hit back at leaders demanding to make the electoral rolls public, saying they should not create confusion and should be proud of the “free system”. The notification for the election of party president will be issued on September 22 and the process of filing nominations will run from September 24 to 30. The last date for withdrawal of nominations will be October 8 and if necessary, elections will be held on October 17. The results will be declared on October 19.
