In the report, the official said he and his crew were brought back to Colombo by two Bell 412 helicopters. There has been no official statement from the President’s office on Rajapaksa’s current whereabouts. However, several local media reports have speculated that he was due to leave for Dubai on Monday. The office of Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said Rajapaksa had officially expressed his desire to resign, without giving further details.
