Active monsoon in Uttar Pradesh has broken all records after a long time. Rain continued from Thursday into Friday morning. According to the Zonal Meteorological Centre, 160 mm of rain fell in 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday to 8:30 am on Friday. According to experts, this is the highest rainfall of this monsoon season. With this, the second highest rainfall has occurred in September. The previous all-time record of 177.1 mm of rain in 24 hours was on 14 September 1985. Along with this, it remained cloudy throughout the day on Friday and there was light rain at some places. The temperature has also come down due to continuous rain for three days. On Friday, the day temperature was recorded at 27.6 degrees Celsius and the night temperature at 24.4 degrees Celsius. Heavy rain alert has been issued in many areas of the state on Saturday as well. The sky of the capital Lucknow is cloudy. Intermittent rain fell on Friday night. Cloudy weather is expected during the day on Saturday. However, there is no chance of heavy rain. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding rain in the capital. According to this, there may be moderate to heavy rain in the capital. The Zonal Meteorological Center at Amausi has issued yellow alert for Saturday in many districts of the state. Director JP Gupta said on Thursday that the low pressure area moving towards central UP is weakening. Due to this effect, cloud movement will continue in Lucknow on Saturday. There may also be light rain at some places in the city. However, the Meteorological Department has issued a thunder storm warning.
Low pressure area
According to JP Gupta, director of the Zonal Meteorological Center at Amausi, the deep low pressure area formed in and around northwest Madhya Pradesh had moved towards central UP by Thursday. Due to this, it rained in the surrounding districts including the city. The Meteorological Department had issued a yellow alert for heavy rain from Friday to Saturday morning. However, the low pressure area weakened on Friday. Now due to its movement towards the east, a heavy rain warning has also been issued in Terai districts of UP and adjoining districts of Uttarakhand on Saturday. Meanwhile, the city will be cloudy with light to moderate rain.
Heavy rain warning
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Balrampur, Gonda and surrounding areas on Saturday. Along with this, wind and storm occurred in Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Sharavasti, Lucknow, Barabanki, Gonda, Basti, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Mau, Ballia, Ghazipur and Ed. A yellow alert has been issued.
