As soon as the accident was reported here, local people reached the spot and started helping. As soon as the information was received, the police also reached the spot and after much difficulty took the injured out of the bus and took them to the hospital. Everyone was going to Ranchi to perform Kirtan. According to eyewitnesses, the leaf of the passenger bus broke, due to which the bus went out of control and overturned in the river. There were 52 passengers in the bus. The bus was cut with a gas cutter and some of the injured were taken out.
Injured Vishwajit Singh, who reached the hospital, said that he had left Giridih at 1.30 to join the Sangat in Ranchi. At around 4.30 pm, the passenger bus fell into the river after crossing Tatijharia. 8-10 year old children were also traveling in the bus. Injured Sanmeet Singh said that four members of his family had reached Giridih from Kolkata. About 40-50 people from Giridih were to attend a religious program at the Gurudwara in Ranchi. Apart from him, his five-year-old son, wife and another member were traveling in the vehicle. By the grace of God, his family survived. Raju Singh of Hazaribagh Gurdwara Committee is also included among the injured.
Here, President Draupadi Murmu expressed grief over the accident by tweeting. He tweeted and said – I am very saddened by the news of the death of people in a road accident in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. My heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in this accident. I wish all the victims a speedy recovery.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Saddened by the loss of life in the bus accident in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand. Their sympathies are with the bereaved families in this hour of sorrow. May the injured get well soon.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren said in a tweet, “Saddened by the loss of passengers due to the bus falling from the bridge in Tatijharia. May God give peace to the departed souls and give strength to the bereaved families to bear this sad time. Relief and rescue operations are being carried out by the district administration. I wish the injured a speedy recovery.
