T20 World Cup: The simplicity of Dinesh Karthik’s father was seen in Australia, waiting for his son like the general audience.

Sydney: From a distance, Krishna Kumar looks like former Indian football captain Prasoon Banerjee. He was waiting for the practice session of the Indian cricket team. The man was none other than Dinesh Karthik’s father who is here to watch his son play the role of a finisher for the Indian team in the T20 World Cup. Karthik is the oldest and senior player in the Indian team. He made his international debut in 2004 and is probably playing his last ICC tournament.

Krishna Kumar was not looking at any particular batsman. Once he turned on his mobile camera, he was told that he could not use it and that it was against the rules to do so. When it came to know that he is the father of Dinesh Karthik, journalists also reached him.

He also spoke to several YouTube channels about his son’s comeback. Karthik is a cricketer whose parents come to watch him play whenever he plays for India. When Karthik was playing Test cricket under the captaincy of Rahul Dravid, his mother Padmini often came to watch his matches. However, his father could not watch the match against Pakistan in Melbourne on Sunday as he was traveling then.

Karthik has got the role of finisher in Team India

Dinesh Karthik plays the role of finisher for Team India in the T20 cricket team. He has often been seen finishing last for the team. This is the reason why the team management trusted Karthik and selected him for the World T20. Apart from this, he is also a replacement for Rishabh Pant who also handles wicketkeeping for the team in his absence.

Karthik has played 26 Test matches, 94 ODIs and 57 T20 Internationals for Team India. Karthik has scored 1025 runs for India in Test cricket. Along with this, he has scored 1752 runs in ODI cricket while he has 673 runs to his name in T20 internationals.
