T20 World Cup: Corona rage in Australian team, star player infected before match against Sri Lanka

Perth: Australia’s star spinner Adam Zampa has tested positive for Covid-19, making it doubtful to play in the T20 World Cup match against Sri Lanka. According to the news of ‘Daily Telegraph’, Zampa is not showing serious symptoms but there is concern about his playing in this big match. However, International Cricket Council (ICC) rules do not bar a player who tests positive for Covid-19 from participating in a match.

Recently George Dockrell of Ireland played a match against Sri Lanka despite being found to be Covid positive. Australia are likely to decide whether to play Zampa in the match just before the toss. If the hosts decide not to play Zampa, Ashton Agger may get a chance to play.

Agar, who played just one match in the last T20 World Cup, played in a warm-up match against India. After losing by 89 runs against New Zealand in their first match in Sydney, Australia will have to beat Sri Lanka by a big margin to stay in the tournament.

Will have to return to Australia

After the defeat in their first match of the tournament, the pressure has increased on the hosts Australia. Australia will be looking to make a strong comeback with a win against Sri Lanka. However, it will not be easy for him because the Sri Lankan team is also in its rhythm. In such a situation, Australia is expected to get tough competition from him.

Along with this, after losing to New Zealand, the Australian camp also needs some confidence which they can get in the match against Sri Lanka. This match between Australia and Sri Lanka will be played in Perth.

Australia and Sri Lanka are in Group 1. Apart from these teams, it also includes teams from New Zealand, England, Afghanistan and Ireland.
