Roger Federer: Sachin Tendulkar’s favorite player is about to retire, no less than a Little Master in greatness

Roger Federer, Switzerland’s greatest tennis player and 20-time Grand Slam winner, may soon announce his retirement. According to Swiss media reports, Federer is unable to return to the tennis court due to a series of injuries. The 40-year-old Federer was due to return to Wimbledon this year but it did not happen, now it is believed that he can return to the Laver Cup in September.

Speaking to the Dutch newspaper Alzheimer’s Dougblad, Federer indicated that it was time to turn his career around. “I’ve always been a winning lover, but it’s better to stop when you’re not a competitor,” he said. I don’t think I need tennis now. I am happy with small things like when my son does something good and when my daughter comes home with good marks.

“Tennis is part of my whole identity, but not my whole identity,” Federer said. I always want to be successful and I want to be successful, after tennis now I want to invest all my energy in business.

Federer last appeared at Wimbledon a year ago, where he lost to Hubert Harkaz in the quarterfinals. He underwent knee surgery after the tournament, which has kept him away from the tennis court for more than a year.

At the same time, Federer is now out of the top 1000 players in the ATP rankings for the first time in his 25-year career due to not participating in Wimbledon 2022. Federer made his debut in September 1997 at the age of 16. Since then, he has managed to make it to the singles rankings every week. He started his journey from 803rd position in the rankings and reached the top.

He also holds the record for the longest stay in the rankings, which was broken by his arch-rival Novak Djokovic.
