Rakul Preet Singh explains why she doesn’t blow firecrackers on Diwali, you too will appreciate it

New DelhiRakul Preet Singh recalls the days when she was with her father on Diwali. Rakul Preet Singh said that once her father saw her blowing firecrackers, he asked her to blow a 500 rupee note. In fact, Rakul’s father taught her a lesson on why she should avoid firing crackers.

In an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Rakul said that when she was studying in the fifth standard, she stopped firing crackers. The last time Rakul burst crackers on Diwali was when she was 9 years old. She says, ‘It was a memorable Diwali. My father gave me a 500 rupee note and asked me to burn it.

Rakul adds, ‘I was shocked and asked him why he was asking me to do this. He told me, ‘But that’s exactly what you’re doing. You are buying and bursting crackers. What if you use the money to buy some chocolates and give them to those in need.

‘I must have been a girl of about 9 or 10,’ she finally said. I remember we went to a sweet shop, bought sweets and distributed them to the poor. I felt a different kind of happiness that day and since then I have never fired crackers.

Rakul was seen in ‘Doctor Ji’ released on 14 October. She is also grabbing the attention of the audience with Inder Kumar’s ‘Thank God’, which will be released in theaters on October 25. The Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra starrer has opened well at the box office. Rakul was seen at Ekta Kapoor’s Diwali party.
