Pakistani journalist Arshad Nadeem was shot dead in Kenya, the government is being criticized

Islamabad:Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif has been shot dead in Kenya, his wife confirmed on Monday. Sharif’s wife Jawaria Siddiqui said on Twitter, “I lost my friend, husband and my favorite journalist today, according to the police he was shot dead in Kenya.” ‘Respect our privacy and please do not share our family photos, personal details and their last photos from the hospital.’

As reported by Dawn News, Foreign Office spokesperson Asim Iftikhar said that Pakistan’s High Commission in Kenya is receiving information from the officials. There is a wave of mourning among politicians and colleagues on the death of the journalist. President Arif Alvi termed Sharif’s death as a loss for journalism and Pakistan. PTI General Secretary Asad Umar and Senator Azam Swati said they were shocked and saddened by the news of the journalist’s death.

Demand for investigation into the murder
According to a Dawn News report, journalists Kamran Khan and Shahbaz Rana have demanded an inquiry into Sharif’s murder. The Home Ministry had rejected the channel’s NOC citing “adverse reports from agencies”. According to a Dawn News report, Sharif left the country after this.
