LSG vs RCB: Bangalore’s biggest challenge to Nawabs of Lucknow, losing team will be out today

LSG vs. RCB Eliminator Preview: Royal Challengers Bangalore are in high spirits after Virat Kohli’s return to form and a dramatic entry in the IPL playoffs thanks to luck. Today in Eliminator they will face Lucknow Super Giants which is playing for the first time in the league. Lucknow has easily made it to the playoffs while Bangalore has made it to the last four on the basis of luck after losing to Delhi by Mumbai.

There are high expectations from Virat
After a low score in the opening matches, Virat showed signs of returning to form by scoring 73 off 54 balls in the last league match against the Gujarat Titans. This was his second half-century of the season but he played his well-known shots and kept RCB’s expectations alive. Kohli’s form, Dinesh Karthik’s success as a finisher, Josh Hazlewood, Vanindu Hasaranga and Hershel Patel’s trio of fast bowlers and Eden Gardens’ fast bowling have multiplied RCB’s enthusiasm. After playing three IPL finals, RCB is a star-studded team that has repeatedly failed to live up to the expectations of the spectators. This time he has three-time IPL winner Du Plessis which could be a lucky charm for him.

Karthik’s performance
As far as bowling is concerned, India’s pacer Mohammad Siraj (8 wickets) has not been able to move this season but has been impressed by Hazelwood, Hasaranga and Herschel. They will again prepare to wreak havoc on a new pitch in a knockout match. Returning to the Indian team after winning several close matches before the Twenty20 World Cup, Karthik has proved to be a trump card for the RCB. Karthik, 36, has scored 287 runs in 14 innings in which he has remained unbeaten nine times and has a strike rate of 191.33. RCB batsmen will face young Lucknow pacers Avesh Khan and Mohsin Khan. Lucknow also has experienced bowlers like Dushmantha Chamira and Jason Holder but they have not been able to perform consistently this season.

The opener will be responsible
Speaking of Lucknow, the entire responsibility will be on openers KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock. It will not be easy for the RCB bowlers, who have been the most successful opening pair of the season, to control the bat of the two. In the last match against KKR, the two had an opening partnership of 210 runs, which is also the largest opening partnership in the history of the IPL. However, the team does not have good batsmen in the middle and lower order. No one could walk without Deepak Hooda. Marcus Stoinis, Karunal Pandya, Ayush Badoni and Holder couldn’t do much.

Faf left an impression
In the last match between the two teams this season, RCB captain Faf du Plessis made his mark. RCB scored 181 runs for the loss of six wickets with his brilliant innings of 96 runs. In reply, Lucknow managed to score only 163 runs for the loss of eight wickets against Josh Hazlewood’s deadly bowling (4/25). All-rounder Glenn Maxwell scored 23 off 11 balls and took one wicket for just 11 runs in two overs.
