LLC: League of Legends cricket boom in India, 1.2 billion fans watch matches, big preparations for third season

New Delhi: Recently the second season of Legends League Cricket has ended. The first season of the league was played in Oman but this time it was held in 6 different cities in India. As soon as this league came to India, its popularity grew tremendously. This is why the second season was watched by almost 1.2 billion fans of the live match. Thus, the number of viewers this time has increased three times compared to the first season. Commenting on this milestone, Legends League Cricket CEO and Co-Owner Raman Raheja said the league has become the second most watched T20 cricket league in India.

After the successful second season, CEO Raman Raheja said, “The third season of the league will be organized in a more innovative way. This league, along with widening the scope of cricket, gave the ex-players a great opportunity to play the second innings. And next season we will see more big names.

On this league, former Australian cricketer Shane Watson said, ‘It’s amazing. It was a great experience to play in front of such a big audience. I am looking forward to playing in this league again.

Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir said, “Players also enjoy playing their best on the field when spectators come in large numbers to watch the matches.”

Along with this, Ravi Shastri, commissioner of this league, said, ‘We did not expect such success. About 80 veteran players from around the world are participating in this league. Fans get a chance to see their favorite player in action again. The first event at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens was a wise decision. The audience was very enthusiastic about the match.

LLC played for 20 days in 6 cities

Legends League Cricket was organized in 6 major cities of India. This tournament was played for a total of 20 days. Meanwhile around 320 million viewers enjoyed the match on various OTT platforms. Apart from Star Sports, the live streaming of the league was telecasted live on Fan Code, Kayo Sports, Willow TV and Fox Cricket, so that the matches of the league could be watched by overseas viewers besides India.

According to data from BARC, which provides ratings to television channels, League of Legends cricket matches have more viewership than any other T20 league in the world. Along with this, this league was also very popular on social media. There were about 550 million interactions on social media.
