Kedarnath Pandey, a member of the Bihar Legislative Council, died due to a heart attack

Sivan: Kedarnath Pandey, state president of Bihar Secondary Teachers Association Patna and member of Bihar Vidhan Parishad has passed away. He breathed his last at Medanta Hospital in Delhi. A few days ago he had a heart attack. After which he was treated in Medanta, Delhi. On the other hand, at around 1.30 pm on Sunday night, he again suffered a heart attack. After which he could not be saved. After the death of Kedarnath Pandey was reported on the morning of Diwali, the Secondary Teachers’ Association was in mourning. He is an MLC from Saran teachers’ constituency.

Taught children for a long time in schools and colleges

Born on 1 January 1943 in Kotwa Narayanpur village under Balliapur district of Uttar Pradesh, Kedar Nath Pandey was elected from Saran Teacher Constituency. From 1965 to 1981, he was a teacher at Sri Krishna High School, Kailash, Siwan. While 116 was the Headmaster of Gaya De Kabir High School in Siwan from 1981 to 1995. From 1995 to 1996, he also served as the Headmaster of Mardan High School, Daryapur. Prior to this, from 1973 to 1975, he also served as a part-time Professor of Education at Vidya Bhavan Mahavidyalaya, Siwan.

Active in social and political activities
Kedarnath Pandey held the post of Secretary of Hindi Sahitya Sammewan Siwan, Secretary of Bhojpuri Sahitya Sammewan Siwan and General Secretary of Bihar Secondary Teachers Sangh for a long time. Apart from this, he was also a member of Indo-Soviet Friendship Association and Indo-German Friendship Association. He was also the vice-president of the Bharatiya Janata Sangh and an office-bearer of the Bihar Progressive Writers’ Association. While from 7 May 2002 he was a new member of the Bihar Legislative Council and Chairman of the Council’s Petition Committee.

Wrote and edited several books
Kedarnath Pandey’s published works include Hindi plays Prithvi Raj Chauhan, Kaikeyi, Guru Dakshina, Veer Shivaji, Bhojpuri play ‘Shurut’. Among other books, ‘Mel Dhool Jaan Ke Geet’, Social Concerns of Education, Education Should Make a Movement, ‘Yadan De Pande’, songs from the bygone era will also be sung, Mahakaal’s Bhasam Aarti and Road to Village. He also edited the Bhojpuri magazine ‘Mati Ke Gamak’. Apart from this, many articles and stories were published in different magazines.
