Jonny Bairstow: It’s amazing, Jonny Bairstow has to wash his hands from T20 World Cup squad because of golf

New Delhi: Before the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia this year, the England cricket team has received a big blow. The team’s explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow has been ruled out for the entire season for England with this year’s T20 World Cup due to injury. Bairstow was injured while playing golf. He slipped while playing golf on the course, injuring his lower leg. Bairstow gave this information on his social media handle.

After the injury, Bairstow wrote on his Instagram story, ‘Unfortunately I will not be available for games in the near future. This is because I injured my lower leg in an accident and will need an operation. The injury occurred when I slipped on the golf course this morning.

Let us tell you that England has announced its 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup. Apart from Bairstow, Janus Roy will also not play in this big ICC tournament. Phil Salt has been added to the squad in place of Jason Roy. Roy has not been included in the squad due to poor form.

Wicketkeeper batsman Jos Buttler will lead the team in his first World Cup as captain. He will replace Eoin Morgan, who retired from international cricket earlier this year. Buttler is currently struggling with injury and will not lead England’s limited overs tour of Pakistan. All-rounder Moeen Ali will lead the team against Babar Azam’s side in seven T20Is.

However, the ECB is confident that Buttler will be fully fit before the start of the World Cup. David Malan has also returned after performing in England’s recent series against South Africa. The left-handed batsman, who scored runs at a strike rate of 148.27 in T20 this year, has been included in the team in place of Morgan. He is also the current highest run-scorer of The Hundred with 358 runs at an average of 59.66.

Along with this, the bowler Tymal Mills, who has shown an excellent game in T20, has also not got a place in England’s T20 World Cup. However, he has been added as extras along with Liam Dawson and Richard Gleeson. Apart from this, Mark Wood and Chris Woakes have recovered from their respective injuries and have been named in the 15-man strong squad.
