Jammu and Kashmir News: Terrorist grenade attack on CRPF camp in Shopian-Pulwama, 3 jawans injured

Srinagar: The militants on Saturday hurled grenades at Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camps in Shopian and Pulwama districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Three jawans were injured in the attack. The attacks took place on a day when the paramilitary force was celebrating its 83rd founding day in Jammu. Simultaneously, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took part in the CRPF Foundation Day program held outside the national capital for the first time. Meanwhile, a non-local carpenter was shot and wounded by militants in Pulwama district on Saturday.

At around 8.10 pm on Saturday, militants hurled a grenade at the CRPF’s 178th Battalion camp at Babapora in Zainpura area of ​​Shopian district in south Kashmir, a Jammu and Kashmir police official said. He said a CRPF jawan was injured in the grenade attack. In another incident, militants hurled a grenade at the CRPF’s 180th Battalion at Nodal in Taral area of ​​south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, the official said. Two CRPF personnel were injured in the attack.

A non-local carpenter was shot and wounded by militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday. This information was given by the police. Mohammad Akram, 40, was shot dead at around 9.10pm, an official said. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and then shifted to the SMHS hospital here, the official said. Akram is a resident of Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh, the official said. He lives in Arihal, Pulwama, the official said.
