Harbhajan Singh enters politics, Aam Aadmi Party fielded Rajya Sabha candidate

New Delhi: East Indian cricket Harbhajan Singh The Aam Aadmi Party has fielded him as its Rajya Sabha candidate from Punjab. The party has also nominated IIT professor Sandeep Pathak, educationist Ashok Kumar Mittal and Delhi MLA Radhav Chadha as Rajya Sabha candidates from Punjab. The party has won a landslide victory in the recent Assembly elections in Punjab. In Punjab, five Rajya Sabha seats will fall vacant on April 9. The last date for filing nominations is March 31.

Harbhajan Singh, wearing a yellow turban, filed his nomination as AAP candidate. Harbhajan Mann was accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. On the occasion, the Aam Aadmi Party tweeted, “After honoring the Indian team with bowling, Mr. Turbinetter will now raise the voice of the people of Punjab in Parliament.”

Before the Punjab elections, Harbhajan Singh had met former Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu and it was believed that he might join the Congress. However, Bhajji has denied this.

Harbhajan Singh, who has taken 417 wickets in 103 Tests for India, is not the first cricketer to decide to enter the political arena. This list is too long. There are many former cricketers like Mohammad Azharuddin, Gautam Gambhir, Mohammad Kaif, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Vinod Kambli who have entered politics. The great batsman Sachin Tendulkar has also been a member of the Rajya Sabha. He was nominated for the upper house of parliament.
