Ghani had an exclusive chat with News18 on the current climate of his film, OTT release and flop films in Bollywood.
Given the state of Bollywood and despite the demand for good content on OTT, Prakash Jha, when asked about box office releases, said that OTT did not pick him up, so he turned to cinema halls. They said, “OTT didn’t choose us. We are already OTT. We also had to go to the cinema, but the OTT people thought it was a very original and dry film.”
Prakash Jha added, “There is no comedy in this (Matthew’s cycle). It has no big stars. So he didn’t pay attention. Keep telling me – you know how our audience is – they already know the audience. So what can you say? We were going to the cinema. Even if we go to OTT, we must go to the cinema.”

Apart from this, Prakash Jha also answered the question related to remakes, content quality and audience’s lack of understanding in Bollywood. He said, “I will ask you why make a remake? What is the reason behind the remake? The reason is that you don’t have an original story. You don’t want to spend time working on the original story. You are not talking to writers who have original stories.
Manufacturers do not want to spend time and money
Prakash Jha added, “You don’t want to spend money and time in such content development, because you don’t have time and your money should be earned. You have taken money from the market. Fund has been created. If you want to pay interest, you have to move the money somehow. What will happen when people with this tendency enter the industry?

But you are promoting gutka. what do you mean No one is doing well. Due to which they are getting good money. So for money you will sell gutkha. You will work on remakes for money. You will act in any film for money. So it’s your fault too. Those who pressurize you by taking money from the market are also at fault. So whatever is in all these things, we are running out of content. We have stopped creating original content in Hindi. Or don’t even ask the people who make them. The system does not ask. ,
It was premiered in several international film festivals
Let us tell you that ‘Mato’s Cycle’ was premiered at the 25th Busan International Film Festival and the 17th Asian International Film Festival. The film was well liked. Although the director told us MGGani that he could not attend the festival physically due to the virtual festival, the film received a good response.
