David Miller IPL 2022: People believed that cartridges were swindled, no buyer was found on the first day, now David Miller has become the killer

Kolkata: Gujarat Titans have become the first team to reach the final of IPL 2022. In the first qualifier of the league, Gujarat defeated Rajasthan Royals (GT vs RR) by 7 wickets. South Africa’s explosive batsman David Miller was instrumental in the team’s victory. He made 68 off 38 balls. Gujarat needed 16 runs in the last over. Miller hit three sixes off the first three balls to take Gujarat to the final.

The first day of the auction was unsold
David Miller, who was making a splash in IPL 2022, went unsold on the first day of the auction. Miller was released by Rajasthan Royals after last season. The 32-year-old left-arm batsman had a base price of Rs 10 million. But neither team showed interest in buying them. After not selling on the first day, he was added to the Gujarat Titans team on the second day.

There was a clash with Rajasthan
Although Rajasthan Royals did not bid to buy David Miller on the first day, when the name came up again, Rajasthan was the first to bid. After this Gujarat Titans also joined the race to buy him. In the end, the Gujarat Titans added the batsman for Rs 3 crore. Gujarat also gave him a chance to play in all the matches. Miller has scored 449 runs in 15 matches at an average of 64 and a strike rate of 141.

12.5 crore
David Miller started the IPL for Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab) in 2012. He was retained by Punjab for Rs 12.5 crore before the 2014 mega auction after scoring an unbeaten century in 2013. After 2015, his performance started deteriorating. In the 2018 auction, Punjab used RTM to add Miller to the Rs 3 crore. After his release in 2019, Rajasthan added him to their squad for just Rs 75 lakh.
