Home raids on senior PTI members
Earlier, the Pakistan government had decided to stop the long march of ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan. Imran Khan will be barred from advancing towards the capital Islamabad. Police officers have raided the homes of senior PTI members in major Pakistani cities and detained more than 600 PTI supporters who were preparing to join Imran Khan’s Long March to Islamabad. . Police conducted raids across the country, especially in Punjab, arresting PTI supporters and forcing senior party members to go into hiding.

Police officials say the arrests are being made under a public order (MPO), which allows anyone to be detained for at least 90 days. According to reliable sources, a list of at least 350 senior PTI members has been compiled and sent to the concerned security quarters for conducting raids under the MPO. A source said, “The CCPO office has sent the list to the concerned police stations and the concerned DSP has been asked to monitor the proceedings.” Some of the senior members of PTI include Babar Awan, Hamad Azhar, Firdaus Aashiq Awan, Ali Naveed Bhatti, Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, Malik Nadeem Abbas, Yasir Gilani, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Sadia Sohail, Ejaz Chaudhry, Akram Usman, Akil Sidki. Islamabad’s Red Zone Seal, Army Deployed

Headquarters and diplomatic enclaves are located. Section 144 has been implemented in and around the Red Zone, which prohibits gathering of more than four persons as per the rules. The federal government has decided to call in Pakistan Army services to ensure security in the red zone, citing fears of a deteriorating security situation due to Imran Khan’s long march.

Home Minister Rana Sanaullah said, “We will not allow Imran Khan’s long march to invade the state and make life difficult for the people.” His party had filed an affidavit in the Islamabad High Court assuring them that they would remain calm and would not cross the Srinagar highway. But later he refused. This confirms the intention of Imran Khan and his march. The government has turned down Imran Khan’s demand and called for an anti-government long march. Imran Khan has said that he will not stop at any cost and will start his long march from Peshawar to Islamabad on Wednesday. He has vowed not to give up the agitation till the demand for early elections is met.
