New Delhi:The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has expressed concern over the alleged targeting of madrassas by the BJP-led central and state governments. The board alleged that the BJP governments of the states are following madrassas. The board asked why the same rules were not applicable to other religious institutions like Mathas, Gurukuls and Dharamshalas. AIMPLB General Secretary Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani in a statement alleged that the Center and some state governments of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)-influenced party are adopting a negative attitude towards minorities, especially the Muslim community. “When a party influenced by a particular ideology comes to power, it is expected that its approach will be fair and within the ambit of the Constitution,” he said.
Rahmani said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has himself underlined the importance of law and order in Parliament and elsewhere, but the attitude of various BJP-led state governments is quite the opposite.
In a statement released on Thursday, he alleged that the U.Assam And Uttar Pradesh BJP governments in America are after madrasahs for very minor violations (of rules). They are being harassed by closing madrassas, demolishing them and calling the people working in madrassas and mosques as terrorists without any reason.
