Bihar Floods 2022: Ganga is rising from Bhagalpur to Farakka, on the other side big alert from Meteorological Department for Patna

Patna: The Ganga is flowing above the danger mark at most places in the state on Friday except Munger. Due to this there has been no reduction in the flood situation. On Thursday, the water level of Ganga at Patna’s Gandhi Ghat had dropped to a minor degree, but returned to its previous level. On Friday, the Ganga river was flowing 99 cm above the danger mark. Ganga was flowing 30 cm above the danger mark in Buxar, Digha and Hathidah. On a comparable scale, the river water level had fallen at most places except Gandhi Ghat.

However, the Ganges raged in Bhagalpur, Kahalgaon and Farakka. The river was flowing 16 cm, 85 cm and 61 cm above the danger mark at three places respectively. In Bhagalpur, flood water entered the low-lying areas of the city. Meanwhile, Nepal is likely to receive light to moderate rains in the river catchment areas of North Bihar in the next few days. The water flow of Kosi and Gandak rivers increased marginally on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Patna Meteorological Center has issued an orange rain alert for the capital. The Patna district administration has also appealed to the people to avoid getting caught in the storm. Take shelter in firm places and avoid going near fields, trees. Along with this, the Patna Meteorological Center has predicted rain in a total of 18 districts of North Bihar. While a heavy rain alert has been issued in East and West Champaran, Sitamari, Araria as well as Kishanganj district.
