Bangladesh government fails to protect Hindus, says RSS angry over ISKCON temple violence

New Delhi: Indresh Kumar, National Executive Member of RSS (Indresh KumarHindu temples in Bangladesh (Bangladesh Hindu TempleHas condemned the alleged sabotage. He sought India’s intervention in the matter, saying the Sheikh Hasina government had completely failed to protect the Hindu minority there. Indresh Kumar appealed to the Congress and all opposition parties to rise above “politics of religion and caste” and condemn the incident.

A member of the RSS’s national executive demanded that the government put pressure on Bangladesh to stop attacks on Hindus there. He alleged that Hindus were being targeted in the neighboring country. Kumar, the chief patron and founder of the Muslim National Forum, has also called on the Muslim community to condemn the attacks. According to reports, a mob of 200 people allegedly attacked and vandalized the Iskan Radhakanta temple in Dhaka on Thursday.

Kumar alleged that the ISKCON Radhakanta temple on 222 Lal Mohan Sah Marg in Wari, Dhaka was attacked and vandalized by a mob of more than 200 people. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader said that Hindus were being targeted at every festival in Bangladesh as part of a deliberate conspiracy. He said that similar incident had taken place earlier during Durga Puja. Kumar said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had completely failed to protect Hindus in Bangladesh. This is terrible.

At the same time, Dr. Surinder Jain, Joint General Secretary, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), said that the recent incident of attack and vandalism by more than 200 extremists at the Radhakanta temple in Dhaka, Bangladesh was very unfortunate. He said this was not the first time that Hindus had been attacked by such elements during a festival in Bangladesh.

Jain said the security of Hindus was the responsibility of the Bangladesh government, but Hindus there were living in fear. The VHP’s joint general secretary asked how long the atrocities against Hindus would continue in Bangladesh. He said that in order to prevent such incidents, the Bangladesh government should change its constitution and the United Nations should also pay attention to such incidents.
