Army chief Manoj Pandey celebrated Diwali with soldiers near LAC, also took stock of the security situation.

New Delhi Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pandey celebrated Diwali with troops near LAC in Sikkim and also took stock of the security situation there. General Pandey visited military stations in North Bengal and the border region of Sikkim on Sunday and Monday. He wished all the soldiers on Diwali and reviewed the operational preparations along the Line of Actual Control. General Pandey appreciated the enthusiasm of the soldiers and the fully prepared and alert soldiers to deal with every situation. He also reviewed the ongoing infrastructure projects in the border area and expressed satisfaction over the pace of work.

Eastern Army Commander Lieutenant General RP Kalita was also with him in this visit. Army Chief General Pandey arrived at Sukhna Military Station on Sunday. A program was organized here to showcase Indian culture, cultural heritage and unity in diversity. On Monday, the Army Chief visited the forward areas of North and East Sikkim. Inspected operational readiness of field formations deployed in Sikkim sector.

In fact, the Indian Army is on full alert on the LAC. Two and a half years ago, when the conflict with China started in Eastern Ladakh on the LAC, at the same time, a face-off incident between Indian and Chinese troops also took place in Sikkim. Then the Chinese troops crossed the LAC and came into Indian territory, after which they clashed with the Indian troops and were driven away.

Although there has been a conflict on the LAC in eastern Ladakh and the soldiers of India and China have come face to face, there has been no reduction in the deployment of troops from both sides. While winter preparations have been completed from the Indian side, preparations are also being seen from the Chinese side. The withdrawal of Indian and Chinese troops along the LAC does not mean that all is normal this winter. Like the last two years, the LAC will remain warm this winter as well. So Indian soldiers are on alert everywhere.
