American President Biden also burned, celebrated Diwali with pomp in the White House, watch the video

Washington: Diwali was celebrated on Monday in America as well as in India. The White House, the office of the US President, organized a Diwali celebration, which was attended by several Indian-Americans from the Joe Biden administration. Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden also lit the lamps. US Vice President and Indian-origin Kamala Harris was also seen lighting lights on the occasion of Diwali. Biden thanked the South Asian community in the United States for their optimism, courage and compassion.

“We are honored to host you,” Biden said during a Diwali reception at the Wide House. This is the first Diwali reception of this scale at the White House. We have more Asian Americans than ever before and we want to thank you for making Diwali a part of American culture. Together, South Asian Americans represent who we are as a nation, he said.

‘We can all bring light’
As a symbol of the victory of light over darkness, the festival of Diwali reminds us that each of us has the power to bring light to the world, whether in America or anywhere else in the world, Biden said. On this occasion, Kamala Harris also addressed the Indian community. He said that the White House is the ‘people’s house’. Together, our president and the nation’s first lady have made this a place where every American can celebrate their traditions and culture.

Biden’s wife and US First Lady Jill Biden praised the Asian-American community in the US for their “support for progress”. “In faith and love, I thank all of you for coming into this house today with these lights,” Biden said. This house belongs to all of you. Diwali is the biggest festival of Hindu community which is mainly celebrated in India. Apart from India, Diwali is also celebrated in Nepal, Malaysia, Singapore and Fiji.
